WHAT IS INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT?
The Instructional Support program is one in which individual students are identified to receive targeted services in reading, writing, and/or mathematics. Students are identified based upon multiple measures which can include performance on state tests, district tests, performance assessments, portfolio scores, teacher recommendation, and/or classroom performance.
THE GOAL OF INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT
The aim of the South Brunswick Instructional Support Program is to accelerate the learning of a child in an area of deficiency so that "no child is left behind" in achieving academic proficiency. The program is individualizes and provides each student with the support that is necessary to achieve success.
HELLO!
My name is Sarah Shadell and I am the K-2 Instructional Support teacher at Cambridge Elementary School. I am very happy to work with your child this year. I’d like to begin by telling you a bit about myself. I have worked as a teacher in South Brunswick for over 13 years. I began my journey as a fourth grade teacher and had the privilege of working in a classroom for 9 years. Four years ago, I made the decision to become an Instructional Support teacher, where I have worked with many students from Kindergarten to fifth grade.
I have always enjoyed working with children in any capacity. There is nothing more amazing to me than seeing children light up when they learn something new or when they realize that they can accomplish their goals. As one of your child’s teachers, it is my goal to not only teach, but to care for your child, so that school will be a safe and comfortable place for him or her to learn and grow. It is my hope that we will be able to work together to accomplish this and many other goals this year. I try to stay in contact as often as possible so that you can truly feel that you are a part of your child’s school day. Along with this website, you can stay updated by using the Bloomz app. If you have any questions at all throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to contact me. |
